History of The Firm

The Firm was founded by Michael Odell, FCA. Mr. Odell spent 23 of his 30 years in public practice in the Northwest Territories, where he worked with native organizations, the public sector and small business. Mr. Odell earned a diploma in agriculture and a degree in economics from the University of Guelph. Mr. Odell obtained his CA designation in 1973. Mr. Odell was a senior partner with Mackay and Partners for 15 years before forming his own practice and firm in 1996. The firm started out as Michael Odell Chartered Accountant at the 100 Borden Drive location.

The firm changed names form Michael Odell Chartered Accountant to Michael Odell & Associates Chartered Accountants in 1998 when Charles Jeffery, CA joined as a partner in the firm.

Mr. Odell retired from public practice and left the firm in February of 2003. The firm adopted the name Odell & Associates after Michael's departure and carried this name through the firm's expansion in September 2003 to its new location on Old Airport Road.

After establishing the new location the name of the firm was changed on January 1, 2004 from Odell & Associates to Charles Jeffery Chartered Accountant.

The firm continues to grow under the direction of Charles Jeffery and take advantage of the larger modern facilities. Throughout the firm's history it has continued to offer a high level of service assisting many Northern businesses & organizations achieve their financial goals by providing professional and confidential services.
